Dealing With A Cyst Endometriosis

By Amanda Clark

Ovarian Cysts are pockets filled with fluid that develop on your ovaries. They can often be caused by a much more serious condition called Endometriosis. This condition is very painful and affects the walls of your uterus. Tissue will grow on the outside of the uterus and scar tissue develops. These conditions are often diagnosed at the same time. A Cyst Endometriosis is a common occurence.

Many women suffer from this condition and often develop Ovarian Cysts. These cysts are very common, but sometimes have to be surgically removed. I suffered from this condition for years and tried many different treatments before resorting to a complete hysterectomy.

Doctors will usually treat this condition with Progestin. This drug can decrease bleeding and scar tissue. Birth Control pills can also relieve some of the pain associated with this disease. If the symptoms are left untreated, scar tissue can adhere to other organs in the body.

Another treatment that is available is an oral contraceptive shot. This will stop all ovarian activity and will only be effective for nine months. Depo Provera is the most common drug used to accomplish this. Many women will experience positive results from this type of treatment. This method can be used on and off for long periods of time.

After all methods of treatments are exhausted, doctors will perform a hysterectomy. This involves removing the entire uteus and sometimes the fallopian tubes. This treatment will remove all evidence of the disease, but will also sterilize the patient. Many women like the fact that it will also hault their monthly cycle. This procedure is only used if all else fails.

If you are suffering from either of these conditions, it is important to be evaluated by your doctor. This disease is fairly common and is hereditary. Since there are several treatments available, your doctor may try several different methods before finding something that works for you. There is hope for those who suffer from this disease.
